My name is Juan Manuel Juarez (He/Him) and I am a Oaxacan, Zapotec lighting designer and theatre technician based in the Baltimore-Washington area. 

My personal approach to design is centered around telling narratives from different points of view. By infusing my cultural background and personal experiences into my work, I am able to create meaningful connections between people, their environment, and their stories.  My work is meant to evoke emotion,  to inspire those who experience it, and to bridge the gap between different cultures and communities. 

My creative home is currently Everyman Theatre, in Baltimore, MD, where I've been the Lighting Supervisor since 2015.  Everyman has been instrumental in shaping my work ethic and taught me to work efficiently in a collaborative environment.  I hold degrees in Theatre Production and Psychology from Hofstra University.
